"This is undoubtedly 5* accommodation. Every attention to detail has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The cottage was beautifully decorated with luxurious soft furnishings, high quality linens and the fluffiest, thickest towels. What a refreshing change that the owners genuinely care about the customer experience! Lorraine and John have a real talent for offering a 5* experience. We have stayed in lots of top end accommodation but this far outstrips all the others."

"Heavenfield Cottage is an absolutely gorgeous self-catering destination for couples travelling to the North East. It’s ideally located for all local amenities but also away from the hustle and bustle in the gorgeous Northumbrian countryside. The cottage interior finish is extremely high and so very comfortable, everything you need has been thought of, we enjoyed it so much and would return in a heartbeat. I can’t recommend this cottage enough…it’s superb!"

"We had a lovely time at Heavenfield Cottage. I don’t think there is any more our hosts could have done to make us feel welcome. The cottage is beautifully equipped and extremely comfortable. As a base for exploring Kielder Forest, Northumberland National Park and the Northumberland Coast it was excellent. Even though our stay was in the midst of freezing temperatures, sleet and snow the cottage was a haven."

"Well I’m not even going to wait until the end of our visit. This place is pure luxury with everything catered for and a great attention to detail. A fantastic place to come back to today after our walk to Sycamore Gap in every different type of weather possible. Had such a warm welcome yesterday with the fire lit and a beautifully decorated, festive house. 5 Star beautiful property, great location, you must visit."

"Heavenfield Cottage is wonderful! Easter week was wet and snowy, but the cottage was so warm & cosy to come home to, with underfloor heating & wood burner. Everything has been so carefully thought out, superb bathroom, very well equipped kitchen, excellent TV & wifi, very comfortable bedroom, good range of DCI Ryan novels! And plenty of extra things too - such as a hamper of local produce including delicious Northumbrian cheese, local eggs. And Easter eggs! Thank you John & Lorraine! We will be back."

"Premier cottage. Everything about it, including fixtures, fittings, equipment was a ‘cut above’. A beautifully restored building! The owners had obviously thought of everything. Ideally located for those with an interest in history, both Roman and Medieval. Also close to the amenities of Hexham. We had a wonderful time."

"This cottage is really something special and it is a pity the highest rating is 10 as we would happily rate it higher. It is far and above the best place we have stayed in. Furniture and fittings are of high quality. Lighting is excellent. Huge fluffy towels are provided. The owners, Lorraine and John, are warm, friendly and very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. An absolute gem. We loved it."

"An excellent long weekend away at Heavenfield Cottage. The property was fantastic and has everything you need. The owners could not have been more helpful and the location is perfect for exploring Hadrian’s Wall, especially as it is built right on top of it! Would love to visit again in the future."

"We had such a special weekend here, thank you Lorraine and John for an utterly luxurious and outrageously comfortable stay in your stunning cottage - so many thoughtful extra touches, a warm welcome and wonderful peace and quiet. Can’t wait to return!."

"We had an excellent stay in Heavenfield Cottage. It was so wonderfully positioned for all the things we wanted to do like visit WWT Washington, Bowes Museum, Bewick Museum, Pitmen’s Paintings at Ashington, visit friends, Corbridge and Hexham. And the cottage was super good. Recently renovated to the highest standard, Lorraine has woven her magic in terms of interior design. Fabulously comfortable with huge bed and lovely sitting room - ‘forest’ shower and super deep bath. When you get those candles lit you’d think you were in bathroom heaven. Kitchen is very well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine/dryer - and every other thing you could possibly need. Lorraine and John were perfect hosts - friendly and welcoming but not in any way intrusive - good balance struck there guys! We had a lovely time at Heavenfield. Thank you."

"This has to be one of the best holiday cottages we've ever stayed in, and we've stayed in a few over the years. Beautifully appointed with huge, comfortable sofa and chair, an enormous bed with thick feather duvet and pillows, a super-luxurious bathroom with a walk-in shower and bath, and furnished in the kind of style you'd normally expect in a 5-star hotel. Plus, the little touches that show how much the owners Lorraine and John care about making this a wonderful experience for their guests, from flowers and candles, to bathrobes and thick fluffy towels, not to mention a bottle of bubble bath and a cake to celebrate my completing the Kielder Marathon! Thank you so much - we can't recommend you enough!"

"Heavenfield Cottage - never was a place so aptly named! Hadrian's Wall country is incredibly special - an ancient landscape marked by thousands of years of human activity and endeavour. So, what could be more perfect for immersing yourself in the area than staying in a well appointed cottage on a working livestock farm, literally built on and from the stones of the wall?
Lorraine and John are warm and thoughtful hosts. They have the balance of leaving you to your own devices and being there for anything you need off to a fine art. We've stayed here three times now and fully intend to return soon."

"Superb accommodation in a wonderful location. Lorraine and John have thought of absolutely everything in the cottage, and all to a very high standard. There is so much to do both locally and further afield which all adds to this being a first rate place for a holiday in Northumberland. We will be back ... definitely in fact, as we have already booked for next year ..."

"Five star welcome to five star luxurious cottage. Having stayed in various cottages we can say that this is the best we've booked. Everything was spotlessly clean and there were little welcoming touches which made us feel at home. Lorraine herself was there to give us a warm welcome. A lovely place to either explore the surrounding area or just relax."

"This converted farm building has been afforded every attention to detail to make you feel comfortable. With underfloor heating and individual room thermostats, excellent walk-in shower, full range of kitchen appliances, quality bed, tasteful décor it has everything you could need. A delightful welcome food basket and flowers showed a thoughtful touch. The location is perfect for visiting all the key Roman ruins and the cottage is actually located on part of Hadrian's wall. John and Lorraine were lovely hosts and we were reluctant to leave."

"By far the best place we’ve stayed, so much so we’ve already booked to return later in the year - abandoning plans for a foreign holiday. This pristine cottage is beautiful, with so many thoughtful touches: From thick cotton dressing gowns to a supply of dishwasher tabs; logs for the wood burner to delicious scones included in the complimentary welcome hamper; and much more besides. The location is stunning and we’re already missing the fresh air, long walks and amazing views. All this and such a friendly, genuine welcome from Lorraine and John made for a perfect February escape"

"A very stylish but also very comfortable cottage, with quality shown in every detail. A great place for grown ups! Very well equipped and well placed for exploring this beautiful area. Lorraine provided us with a lovely welcome pack including ice cold home made lemonade, which was very refreshing after a hot journey. It also came in useful later when I found I had forgotten the tonic to go with the gin! Having breakfast outside watching the swallows swoop was very peaceful. Lorraine and John are helpful and friendly making you feel at home. Would certainly recommend a visit."

"This is without doubt the best cottage we have stayed in. The location is stunning, surrounded by open countryside and picturesque villages. Lorraine and John were lovely and made us feel very welcome, they have finished the cottage to an extremely highly standard, the attention to detail is second to none. We will definitely be back!! "

"Heavenfield Cottage at St Oswald's Farm is absolutely fantastic. It's in a beautiful location and adjacent to the working farm. On arrival we were met by the lovely host, Lorraine and her husband, John. We were given a brief history of the cottage, the farm and the surrounding ancient Roman locations. The cottage is ideally placed to explore the local ancient Roman history or for visiting the nearby towns and villages. There’s even a 7th century church in the field next to the farm. The cottage itself actually sits on Hadrian's Wall (now that’s history). The cottage has recently been restored and fully renovated. The thought and attention to detail is to a very high standard. The open plan entrance area, kitchen/lounge, bathroom and bedroom are immaculate and have to be seen to be fully appreciated. This is the best cottage I have ever stayed in."

"What a find! A beautiful cottage, with many lovely touches. Lorraine and John were so welcoming and generous, making us feel very much at home on their beautiful farm. So much to see and do, both on the doorstep and further afield. We will definitely come back and highly recommend it to couples looking for a luxury pet free cottage in Northumberland.
